Small home appliances – The slump in the housing market has trickled all the way down to the world of coffee makers and pasta machines, so if there’s there certain small home appliance you’ve had your eye on, hop and line and enjoy the bargains.

Tips for Online Electronics Shopping

on 11:22 AM

Purchasing electronics online can be a frightening process especially when you can't see the product, the seller, or the store manager face to face. So what's the safest way to purchase electronics online without getting scammed? It's easy with a few fail proof tips from Daily Steals.

First you need to make sure you understand the online retailers return and exchange policy. Some people think that just because they don't see it online it doesn't exist! However, that's not necessarily true. If you really want to do business with a retailer and don't see a return policy on their website simply call or email to ask. It's that simple.

The next tip is to make sure you familiarize yourself with the online retailer. At Daily Steals we have customer feedback in plain view on the first page of our site. This lets you see what others have to say about a product. If you are shopping online make sure you check out past customer comments, you may be surprised or horrified.

We've talked about this one previously at Daily Steals, make sure that you print out your receipts, just because it’s online does not mean it does not matter.

Another great tip is to check and make sure the online retailer you are purchasing from has a cancellation policy. If you are buying a big TV or computer, but Best Buy surprisingly has a sale on what you just ordered, you may want of cancel it ahead of time. Other reasons to check for a clear cancellation policy include back orders or shipping date disagreements.

Find out how your purchase will be delivered to you so that you can track your shipment and feel some sort of control in knowing where your package is. Also, make sure that you know how much they are charging for shipping and handling...sometimes these prices can be deal breakers.

As always be safe online and make sure you use your credit card or PayPal only and secure your privacy. For real electronic bargains at ridiculously low prices visit www.dailysteals.com. Holiday Thieves Could Target You Online

on 3:00 AM

The National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) was concerned about holiday online thefts that could occur while you are looking for the perfect bargain this holiday season. As a result, they gave a few tips to help keep you safe this holiday season.

It got us thinking, you wouldn't leave your home and start shopping without certain things so why shop on the internet without certain precautions in place...

You wouldn't leave home without you purse and your credit cards so don't shop online without being protected. The NCSA says to make sure you have a firewall, anti-virus, anti-spyware, and important updates before you start typing in those credit card numbers.

You wouldn't leave home and go shop in a dark alley with an unsafe looking character selling stolen goods, so don't shop from an online buyer your haven't check out. The NCSA suggest checking physical address and phone numbers just in case.

You wouldn't allow a holiday purse snatcher to snatch your purse and not scream for help from mall security that's standing six feet away, so why not take advantage of your computers security features? The NCSA suggest using your passwords and security features fully to ensure safety while shopping online.

You wouldn't leave your credit card on a checkout counter while you went to try one some clothes, so why not protect your personal information while online? The NCSA suggest checking the websites privacy policy before you make a purchase or give any information... just to make sure they can be trusted to use your personal info in the right way.

You wouldn't shop this holiday in a place without security, locks, personnel, safety procedures, or policeman so why shop online without checking for the necessary site security features? It's not just your responsibility to be safe; the website should have precautions in place also.

You wouldn't tell the salesperson to keep all your receipts after spending $500 in a store on Christmas toys for the kids, so why not keep a paper trail of your online purchases? Just as important as leaving a store with your receipt, the NCSA says that keeping up with your online receipts, terms of sales, or emails is essential for online shopping.

Lastly, you wouldn't leave the door to your house unlocked with presents under the tree, so why leave your computer connected to the internet after shopping online? The NCSA says that it’s a scammers dream to find a person connected to the internet after shopping. They can install malicious software and steal your information if you are not careful, so turn it off!

How Not To Overspend Online

on 2:30 PM

Online shoppers over spend at least 15% when shopping according to Forrester research. The convenience of point and click can be a detrimental to someone’s wallet and credit card if the proper precautions are not taken. Here are some ways to make sure that doesn't happen to you online1

Beware Of The Enticing Guarantee

Sometimes guarantees can catch us, we guarantee your money back or we guarantee you won't regret this purchase, or even we guarantee it so much we'll give you an additional one free. Don't always fall for the guarantee! Use online shopping reviews to see if other customers like what they bought.

Take Your Time
Don't rush to put it in your shopping cart, once it's in the shopping carts researchers say most likely it will stay there. Only put products in your shopping cart if you have researched it and are sure you want it. Speed sometimes equal empties wallets.

Avoid The Reward Trap
Coupons and rewards are great, especially if you were going to buy the product anyway. But what about that purchase you weren't even going to make but the 15% off coupon, credit card offer, or free gift got you buying it anyway. Focus your coupons and awards on things you were going to buy with or without the reward.

Don't Fall For The Free Shipping Trick
Free shipping is one of online consumer’s main reasons for purchasing. But it’s important to research and make sure the shipping isn't incorporated in the price already or that you don't decide to purchase something else because you won't be spending it on shipping.

Keep these tips in mind and you can really get a bargain online. For more deals check out www.dailysteals.com. Every day, you’ll find a cool new item at a ridiculously low price.
